WHO WE ARE
In 1980, a group of high-school friends known as the “Gutter Boys” realized that they had been very fortunate. They had reaped the benefits of supportive families and quality schooling. So they vowed to one day “give back” to their Baltimore community, by helping others succeed as they had.
Those friends kept that promise.
G.B. Charities, Inc. (GBC) was formally recognized as a 501(c)3 charitable organization in July of 1991. Since then, GBC has raised over $5 million and funded scholarships for more than 1300 promising students in the Baltimore area to attend the quality faith-based schools of their choice.
Feel free to contact us with any questions about our organization.
THE NEW WAVE
A new generation is stepping up to carry on the legacy. “The Young Board” is made up of the next wave of leaders—some of us are second-generation Gutter Boys, following in the footsteps of our fathers, uncles, and mentors. Others are new to the organization but deeply connected through friends, family, and a shared commitment to giving back.
What unites us is our passion for continuing GB Charities’ mission: to provide faith-based education to promising students from hard-working, low-income families in at-risk areas. We are bringing fresh energy, new ideas, and a renewed dedication to expanding our impact while honoring the foundation built before us.
As we take the reins, we are focused on growing community support, increasing fundraising efforts, and ensuring that future generations of students have access to the opportunities they deserve. The mission remains the same, the responsibility is now ours.
Feel free to reach out with any questions or to get involved in shaping the future of GB Charities.

Ages 35 and under
We’ve created a group within our organization called “Young Gutter Boys” in an effort to keep the spirit of GB Charities alive as we pass it down through younger generations.
This group is a collection of 35-and-unders that take an interest in our organization and improving the lives and faith-based education of at-risk children in the area.
We hope to share the passion and drive that our existing board embodies with Young GB, so when the time comes they will lead the charity to continue advancing throughout the years.
GB Charities hosts special events such as happy hours for Young GB Members throughout the year. Not only is a great time and place to meet other like-minded individuals looking to get involved with a non-profit that makes a difference in the community, but it is also an awesome networking opportunity. The GB Charities organization as a whole is a close-knit collection of unified professionals and young professionals, of which your connections here will be sure to last a lifetime.
