    What is a "GB?"

In 1980, a group of high-school friends known as the “Gutter Boys” realized that they had been very fortunate. They had reaped the benefits of supportive families and quality schooling. So they vowed to one day “give back” to their Baltimore community, by helping others succeed as they had. Those friends kept that promise.

GB Charities was formally recognized as a 501(c)3 charitable organization in July of 1991. Since then, GB Charities has raised over $5 million and funded scholarships for more than 1300 promising students in the Baltimore area to attend the quality faith-based schools of their choice.

    How We Operate

GB Charities chooses motivated students to receive tuition support for their elementary and secondary education. Each student is monitored through GB Charities for grades, attendance, effort, and conduct. GB Charities also encourages student participation in extracurricular activities and community service.

All of GB Charities administrative and operating costs are absorbed by members.

Every single dollar raised to GB Charities goes directly to fund a child’s scholarship.
